DESCRIPTION:Warm up this winter with a night of sensory discovery and story telling. Set in the beauty of our barn in front of a roaring fire place our winter long table event features three courses paired with hand crafted beverages from three north west distillers. Each coarse will also feature a local gin\, whisky or liqueur as a key ingredient. \nImagine a feast of slow cooked sticky pork belly with winter gin as a starter\nand smoked lamb shoulder whisky sauce as a main\, followed by a coffee liquer inspired dessert created by our French pastry chef Jeremy. \nThroughout the night you will be able to sample the wares of Alchemy Distillery\, Sandy Gray Whiskey and Hellyer’s Road Distillery. This is a a special occasion as it will be the first time the three whiskey distillers of the region have come together to showcase their products and tell their stories. The night will also feature local music from a surprise guest artist. \n

DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to welcome\, Neil Murray\, one of Australia’s finest singer songwriters for an intimate sunset show at the farm. Neil was a founding member of the Warumpi Band (1980–88\, 1995–2000) which was the first major influential Aboriginal rock group with mostly Indigenous members. DESCRIPTION:We’re super excited to announce that a new annual festival TURN UP THE DIAL is coming to Mount Gnomon Farm. To launch the festival in style we have engaged one of Tasmania’s finest exports\, and arguably the most successful country rock duo that Australia has produced\, THE WOLFE BROTHERS. The multi-award winning group will headline an amazing and diverse line up of artists to entertain the crowd all afternoon and into the night. \nThe Wolfe Brothers will be joined by local artists The Bad Dad Orchestra and Kitty and The HeartBeats\, along with some stellar interstate artists including Andrew Swift\, Darlinghurst\, Taylor Moss\, Tori Darke and Brodie Rainbird. \nIt’s going to be a fun afternoon and evening of great music\, games and delicious paddock to plate food and beverages. We will be serving our orchard cider\, launching our new rhubarb champagne\, Rhubarb Champenguin\, along with some great local wine\, craft beers and spirits and cocktails. There will be local makers and growers having stalls in our barn\, an opportunity to wander our garden and sunflower fields or chill out and have a picnic under an apple tree in our cider orchard. \nA return bus fare provided from Burnie\, Penguin\, Ulverstone and Devonport will allow you to relax and take the pressure off driving. Excitingly for the first time we’re providing an option to camp at the farm or book a motorhome or caravan site. On Sunday there will be a big recovery Sunday breakfast featuring farm produce and our home-made free-range bacon and sausages. \nThe launch of this festival although many years in the making has been fast tracked after the repeated cancellation of so many festival and events. The loss of events such as the Tulip Festival\, Fesitvale and The Unconformity\, has not only hurt those in the event sector it’s taken away so many opportunities for us to come together as a community and celebrate. We want to literally turn up the dial after such a period of non-events. We would love you to venture to our region to turn up at the Dial and launch our festival in style! \nSet against the beautiful back drop of the Dial Range and just minutes out of Penguin\, the TURN UP THE DIAL FESTIVAL promises to be a farm festival with a difference. \nOriginally set for the 29th of January this event has been postponed due to covid implications until January 14 2023. We will use this time to add new elements to this event to make it bigger and better. \nThe gates will open at 1:00pm. The concerts feature Susan Collins\, renowned in both Australia and Europe as a pedagogue\, conductor\, concertmaster\, chamber musician and international competition judge. It promises to be a great day\, so gather some family and friends and join us at the farm. \nPerforming artists program includes; \nChildren’s workshops with slip stream circus from 1:30-3:30 \nA sunset palawa fire dance created and narrated by artist and cultural leader David menegger Gough with percussion curated by Yyan Ng \nTaiko drumming and Polynesian Fire Dancer Lion Tassi \nFire Juggling Show by Slipstream Circus \nMusic line up includes; \nWoman of the Moon\, a 10 piece local group of some of the regions best musicians present a show featuring songs about the moon\, from Moonlight Sonata to Dancing in the Moonlight there is an abundance of material in every genre to celebrate the magic of the moon. \nSam Buckingham\, a folk and Americana singer songwriter based in Byron Bay\, she will be featuring songs from her new album Dear John \nRunaway Belles the farm’s favourite Launceston folk pop duo featuring Emma Anglesea and Tash Parker \nTessa Lee a north west local singer songwriter whose style has elements of jazz\, folk and blues. She will be featuring songs off her album “Warm Orange Flow” and new material from her pending album “Mountains” \nThere will be fire pots\, the burning of a huge paper mache pig\, food trucks\, a long table winter feast and a bar featuring local drinks including mulled wine. \nSecure your tickets early to avoid missing out. Lior is one of Australia’s most successful and respected singer/songwriters and will perform an intimate concert of songs drawn from his vast back catalogue of recordings\, including songs from ‘Animal in Hiding’\, a new collaborative project with emerging singer/songwriter Domini Forster.  These songs\, rooted in personal storytelling\, involve intricate guitar tapestries and textural arrangements.  The project’s key focal point is the rich and synergetic blend of Lior and Domini’s voices in harmony\, harking back to folk icons of the 60’s.\n\nLior burst on to the Australian music scene in 2005 with his stunning debut album – ‘Autumn Flow’.  Known for his dynamic and moving performances\, Lior is one of a rare breed of artists that has achieved a great degree of success and critical acclaim\, whilst maintaining an independence and individuality in their craft.\n\n“One of the best voices going around” Richard Kingsmill\, Triple J\n\nJoining Lior will be special guest Domini Forster\, with talented local duo The Runaway Belles the supporting act.\n\nGates open at 5:45 and close at 9:00 pm.
